İstanbul Microalgae Biotechnologies R&D Center has Biosafety Level-2 (BSL-2) laboratory conditions, and processing of samples studied within the Project INDEPEDENT under sterile conditions, personnel and sample protection are provided.

With two Class 2-A type biosafety cabinets located in the infrastructure, it is possible to work in a sterile manner with different cell and sample types, including UV sterilization lamps and HEPA filters, as well as pathogens.
