Europe's first carbon-negative biorefinery openedThe opening event was held on January 7, 2022 in the presence of The Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut.The opening event of Project INDEPENDENT, which focuses on developing high value-added, ecofriendly, innovative products such as bio-jet fuel, and technologies for Turkey’s locomotive sectors from algal biomass that holds a very special and important place among sustainable resources, was held at Boğaziçi University’s Sarıtepe Campus in Kilyos at 10:30 on Friday, January 7, 2022.Project INDEPENDENT’s biorefinery was officially launched in the presence of The Minister of Industry and Technology, H.E. Mustafa Varank, The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, H.E. Fatih Dönmez, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey, H.E. Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, The Rector of Boğaziçi University, H.E.
